Default bangaii cardinal

How can you tell if you have a male and female I just got two today and from what I
could see at the lfs there was three in one tank one on one side and two together I tryed
to push them togethere but the one was chased away about four times. do you think I may have a par I hope so.

You can't know for sure until the male has eggs in his mouth! You have some good signs, but that's not a be all end all.

I bought six for my 210G reef tank and now there is a definite singled out pair that hides together and chases the others away, sometimes resulting in fin nips. The male has had a mouth full of eggs for about 2 weeks now.
