Delphinus has asked the name of the Faviidae in the first pic. I'm still trying to i.d. I have over 100 books and The first attempt I ran out of time. So that question has spured another attempt. Ocean City sold it to me and said it was a type of monti, ya right maybe colpophyllia natans or platygyra daedalea

I always wanted this camera but never got it because of reviews like one below.
how is yours holding up?
maybe there is a way to make sure battery compartment is tight before going under water?
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...ustomerReviews

Strengths
Clean photos, easy to use, lots of features

Weaknesses
Leaked

Summary
Survived one week of a three week trip to the Caribbean. Followed all the instructions given in the manual pertaining to water use. One day, just would'nt turn on. Removed the battery and there was moisture in the compartment. Sent it back to Olympus, still waiting for a verdict.

I have only use it in the aquarium so far. I did but it after a couple hundred bad snorkel photo's with the throw away underwater. That how I justified the purchase. A guy on RC has had some trouble to he was getting spots in all his pics. I hope they just made a few duds. If I do have any problems I will voice that on the forums. Thanks for the heads up. Mine is about 8 months old.

This guy just had bad luck. I've got an 850 that's been underwater every day for months and it hasn't given me any trouble.

My friend also has this camera and she has taken underwater pic's at the creek she camps at in the summer and hasn't had any problems so far.

Great pics. I have the first model out of this camera, it has survived many snorkeling trips around the world and in our aquarium too. The underwater video mode is great. I will have to upload a vid to youtube to show you guys, its a lot of fun!
