Default Observing night-time activities....proper light for it?

Shone my flash-light at some coral last night and caught a nice glimpse of a decent size dark coloured crab munching away on some LR delicacy....

Is there a light I can buy (or cover for my flashlight) that will not startle my inhabitants while giving me a good look at my tank at night?

thanks.

You can buy flashlights with lens covers you need one that has a red cover. They work great.

I got mine at canadin tire.

I use a regular 60W red party bulb in a clamp on fixture.
