Refugium isn't needed if you have a big enough tank they will find places to hide

Look in the caves, nooks and crannies and the bottom of rocks with a flashlight both during the day and at night their eyes will reflect the light and yes they are small ranging from micro sized to about 1-2 millimetres long

I only ever see them on the glass at night if I shine a light in the tank.
