Default Live foods Vancouver region?

Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone feeds live foods to their saltwater fish?

And if you do, what are you feeding? And where are you sourcing them?

Looking for suggestions for live small fare, this is not for predators, but for some smallish finicky fish that I am trying to get eating.

I feed baby brine shrimp once in a while. I also feed my tank rotifers and copepods daily. I grow my own rotifers and copepods.

I tried live baby brine shrimp for my mandarin, just for the heck of it. I was too lazy to hatch them myself so I got some from Canadian Aquatics. They just started having live blackworms in stock, and I’ve been looking for a Canadian source for that for a long time. Haven’t had a chance to try it out yet though. These are supposedly great for finicky fish.

What kind of fish are you trying to feed? (Being nosy)

Purple queen anthias!

Beautiful fish, but notoriously known for not acclimating to accepting aquarium fare.

Baby brine shrimp really have very little nutritional value and would need to be fortified before they would even begin to help with anthias.

You can purchase live copepods from J@L.

Yeah I get the brine doesn't really hold any nutritional value, but i might have to try them, just to help illicit some feeding response.

Probably will have to try some of the live copepods as well.
