Default Is anybody from Kamloops?

I am thinking of going to see the Adams river salmon run this upcoming long weekend, I am wondering if there are other things to do while I am there. What is a good place to stay? Is there any good restaurant in town? I can eat anything but I like oriental foods (Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Thai, Vietnamese, etc). Also, if anybody has some frags/colonies for sale, please let me know. Thanks.

Not sure on hotels. The Holiday Inn seems pretty nice and it has a whitespot restaurant. Across the street from a small mall and the LC.

For Chinese & Sushi, love the Oriental Gardens downtown. Its across from the downtown casino.

Perhaps someone with more time here will comment. Same for frags.

Just moved here about 4 months ago and loving it so far. Are you going to the new Roderick Haig-Brown viewing platform? we just finished fabricating the steel for that!

no frags yet for myself - the alpine motor in just as you enter kamloops from the West is old, a little rough but I found they were friendly and cleaned well everyday.

do you like Indian food? if yes, try Goldies Flavors of India off of Columbia street. if you like mexican, there is a place with horrible service but we found the food delicious ; Quilas Mexican downtown

there is a wild life centre east of the city along the hwy I believe.

I find it amusing, since I don't find Kamloops a destination town - a lot of other people dont either, more like a pass through town.....but yet the city council push the tourist developments

Where is that platform? I only stopped once in Kamploops before so I don't know much about the town.

Welcome to the loops!

There are plenty of hotels that I could recommend, depending on what your into, if you have family, or if you want to party, or on a budget, gamble, or just chill.
Salmon Run will be awesome this year....if your into camping, as the weather has been quite warm this fall, Scotch Creek Provincial Park is about 10 min down from the Roderick Haig and is an incredible park.

I have some frags available, nothing fancy, just basic montis, zoas, and a couple acros.
PM me your email and I can send you pics and a list

Unfortunately, There really aren't a lot of good saltwater pet stores in the interior
