Default wave maker vs overflows ?

I see lots do it. I have never used a wave maker but I would like to. anyone have issues with overflow noise increasing or having issues once using a wavemaker?

hey man, I use a wave box on my dual overflow tank..
little bit of water trickling noise but if you have gate/ ball valves and can tune the drain speed you can keep the water level in the overflows high enough that it's hardly noticeable.
I have a canopy and overflow covers to that reduces the noise quite a bit also.

the wavebox it self makes quite the hum / vibration when running though but that may just be because it's a old model.
