Default Hunggi74's 57g Illuminata

Hello everyone. I've had this tank sitting in my foyer for about two years now. I figure I'd better get it up and running before my infant boy is up and running. The other factor was $. Lots of $$$ which I wish I had. So I slowly got the equipment that I needed together and am now ready to start things up.
Water testing the tank. [/IMG]
My equipment list so far:
Illuminata 57 gallon tank
Ecosystems sump (thanks Frank)
Koralia Evolution 1050gph
Vortech MP10 (not the wireless model because ill never be able to afford two of those )
Cadlights Tia 1150 (on its way)
Eheim 1260 return pump
Maxspect Razor 160w 16000k LED
Reefkeeper Lite Plus
I built the stand out of 2x4 using a design off the web. I'm no carpenter that's for sure. Plumbed it with flexible hosing because I'm bound to make changes to the system. No valves, gates, because I'm no plumber either lol!
This is today with the lights set up and the tank full of freshwater to leak test everything.
[/IMG]
I have 50lbs. of Marco rock in aRubbermaid with another 20lbs. of Fiji and Bali live rock curing all together so I've got another 3-4 weeks to set up the rest of the equipment.

Found some old pics.

My acan collection at one point before my newb mistakes wiped most of them out.

And in its glory days as a mixed reef.

Default Update

I had major algae issues while running mostly LPS tank. I had every kind of algae possible in a reef tank and they all thrived. I gave up and decided to redo the tank contents from scratch. Had to house the livestock I was going to keep in a 20 gallon for a month while redo was going on. Decided to try Zeovit as the tanks I saw were all beautiful and mostly algae free lol.
And thanks to the bad influences of some people (Jess, Rich, Chris, JESS!!) I caught the SPS bug I can count my non SPS frags with the fingers of one hand and my money leftover with digits of the other hand. Sigh
The tank was reborn beginning of this April:

As of July:

Colours are very pale and I am currently working on adding/keeping more nutrients in the tank to feed the corals.
Thanks for looking and not laughing.
