Note to self: Aquavitro Salinity salt mixes @ 540ppm Calcium.

DO NOT DO BIG WATER CHANGES.

Oddly no, the bucket is saying the lab tested it @ 409 ppm.

So, either I didn't roll my bucket enough or I added to much salt. Salinity from my refracometer showed 1.025 so I'm a little confused.

Does it usually correspond with the label on the bucket?

I don't usually test prior to mixing so I'm not sure, my corals have become rather angry @ me since my last water change so I decided to test this time.

My tank is currently @ 560ppm Calcium , I have scaled the Ca dosing WAY back on my Magus and will be doing a water change today with lower salinity. Just have to wait for new water as the mix tested @ 540 ppm Ca.

this is why I quit using it!!

Ca and alk reading have little consistency. measure your ca and alk after 1 hr of mixing then after say 6-7hrs then the next day for a final. you will get three totally different numbers. Even went to testing after 2 and three days of mixing but still could not get 2 numbers to match out of the same mixed batch of water!!

That's near where my boyfriend and his friend got their bulls this year. Good population down there, they are planning on making annual trips.
