There are several kinds of of Hydnophora. The most popular are Branching (sp.) and Encrusting (exesa). Like any coral in the hobby; it`s the colouration and uniqueness in pattern that may make certain ones more desirable. Both varieties are very aggressive towards their neighbours. The ``fuzzyness`` of the polyps look great in the current and lighting.

You nailed it on the head there good sir, to be honest price is nothing to me, I am not one to pay 100$ for a .25 inch of color but ill trade for it (maybe)
This particular coral is nasty in the sting your neighbor department but but, that being said Acans, paly's, lots of other corals do the same thing.

I will say this baby is my fav and will get a large home in my next tank when I move.

There are many hynophora species, if I am not mistaken Darryl purchased the original frag from me, these are not the greens ones you see everyday it's blue purple. The name slips my mind but when I was able to get a positive if a couple years back it was on the red list for collection.

Pics would definately help!
