He seems to be very under educated in the regulations, for one just to say it all has to be CSA is B.S just there.

Issue is the info is tightly hidden on health canadas website, and e-safes it takes hours of digging to find it.

I put in a call to a field evaluator.

Apparently they can provide me with all the information needed to pass inspection and certify any equipment that is not certified.

Stay tuned!

I may take you up on that offer. He never gave me a report so I will contact the ESA for the report.

No report? How long ago did he inspect? Did he mention the report or when he will get it to you? He has to put it in writing.
Phone him up and request the code violation on each failure as well.

His scope is the buildings hard wiring. Cut the cord end off and hardwire it in then he can look at it.

He's not even really allowed to look at anything that was existing before you moved in, just at the changes and additions you made.

He must be a new guy on a power trip. They are the worst.

I just went thru this with local inspectors with a LED dance floor for my club. Those marks are a exactly the ones they need C RU & C RU US are Non Canadian/US certifiers with CSA approval. Plus I have to agree that your inspector is step out of his area even looking at your equipment.

LED lights are exempt and from what I understand, CE is enough when the electrical unit has an external power supply.

Did you get a report from the inspector yet? Or any answers from him.

I got the report and nothing on there about unsafe equipment like he said.

I am guessing he reported us to Health Canada because its out of his jurisdiction.

I will just wait for them to contact me and deal with it later.

So you passed inspection then? Or did he fail you for other stuff?
