I'm curious how much nitrate those big fish generate, what are your levels?
Have you thought at all about a denitrator, either a coil type or a sulfur reactor maybe? I bet you could get some good mileage out of one..

Im having trouble keeping nitrate down its usally around the 50-100 range. if things dont improve soon im gonna buy one of these
