It's probably going to go like Quebec and will be mandatory soon, personally I agree with it as "all season" tires really only apply to ...Arizona. All season tires lose a lot of their cohesion when the temp hits 2-4 degrees C. Winter tires should be mandatory imo and I have seen tons of people that think all seasons are just fine in the winter...they are in ditch's or in the centre meridians on the highway. A set of winter tires is cheap when you compare it to the damage you can do to yourself and others, plus ICBC can void your insurance if they determine you are in an accident without winter tires on your vehicle. Bottom line is winter tires give you superior grip and stopping power compared to all seasons. It's not just snow and ice..it's temperature as well.
