Need advise

I have set up a 8G biocube. It has about 10lbs of LR with mushrooms and GSP. It has no fish yet as it is cycling. I have developed a bad case of green hair algee. What should I do to get rid of it. Will it go away on its own? Sould I leave the lights off? Should I just wait until cycling is complete and then deal with it?
