Wrasse ID pretty please
I got this new wrasse. It was sold as an evasive wrasse. I googled it and nothing comes up. It looks fairly similar to a
Scarlet Pin Stripe Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus evanidus) a Pink-Streaked Wrasse (Pseudocheilinops ataenia) and a Mystery Wrasse (Pseudocheilinus ocellatus) It's definitely not a mystery wrasse and while it's closer in looks to the other two types it doesn't quite look like them either. I'm thinking it's from the same family of wrasses though, a Pseudocheilinus wrasse. Here's some pic.'s of him (they're not the best, but it was the best I can get of him so far) Any ideas as to what type he is?

Pseudocheilinus evanidus. There are different regional variants.

Google pic.'s of Pseudocheilinus evanidus This image of one from wetwebmedia looks more like mine And this one looks close to what mine looks like It's always weird to me how the same fish can look so different depending on where it comes from

I'm guessing Pinstriped (P. evanidus). I have Kuiter's guide to Fairy and Rainbow wrasses (it actually covers all wrasses - man there are literally 100's of wrasse species ) and the pictures of yours look pretty close to what he has pictured for this species. Here is what he has to say about it:

Thanks, he was too good to pass up at the LFS. He's eating mysis and has been out in the open today However he has sort of been fighting with my Solars wrasse. Nothing major though just a bit of mild chasing.
