Default Water filter comparison

A friend of mine was telling me that he was introduced to a water filtration system. He said that it cost $4000.... That blew me away since us reefers use some intense filters for our tanks. Can this really be better the our filtration? what can this offer that we dont have already? (link below)

From actually checking this machine out. Its all about ph change this machine changes the ph of water claiming to have health benefits. Is it actually possible to change the ph of water without using chemicals?

Ionization through electricity can.

I don't have this machine, but have "heard" (There is that hearsay) that there is a cartridge inside that has to be changed periodically. That might have some chemical inside

Maybe not.Raied might be right. I found this:

Yes, it's a filter that purifies the water (RO). The pH will end up pretty much neutral, which is good.

Snake Oil. Do a little research. Their claims are complete BS.

Completely agree.

The BRS filter is fine. You can just get an RO/DI unit. That is what most people around here use.

Don't spend more than $200-$250 on a filter.
