Default membrane exhausted?

I've had my ro unit for 2 years and have yet to change the membrane I am diligent in changing the filters and di. The unit never showed a reading over 2ppm.

I have been having some po4. Issues with po4 being. . 08 to.16 after wc then falling. So I tested my ro water and found. 08.

Is this the membrane that needs.to be changed.

08 phosphates in water? That's pretty high! Suggested replacement is every 3-5 years, depending on usage. Have you tried testing it right out of the tap? I should check mine, too.

Do you flush your membrane on a regular basis? Membrane should last more than 2 years.

Solutions are easy. The real difficulty lies in discovering the problem.

Not sure how to flush. Honestly thought it did it itself. It's a vertex puretek

Not sure about that one, but the better ones have flush valves for both the membrane (extends the life of the membrane) and DI, and also an ASOV to waste less water, and also extend the life of your membrane, as well as your prefilters. Here is some info on the one I have. Works really well.

Just looked and it does its own backflush. I bought used so it could be three or so years old.
Also it made 400g a month for the first year I had it and 160g a month since. If I remember . Was told that making small amounts of water is harder on the membrane

Have heard that, too. Not sure if it is true. Here is my trouble shooting guide. Maybe it will give you some ideas on yours. My membrane is probably 6 years old, and still good. I bought the unit used 3 years ago, and the guy said it was 3 years old. So this one certainly lasts a long time.

I ordered a new membrane and other filters. A friend told me that chloramine is harder on membranes than chlorine and most treatment facilities have.gone the chloramine way

Brs does sell the required carbon for chloramine so time will tell
