Come on you guys! This is a really old variant, someone has to have it!
No Crayola Plana is Acropora plana. The Chips Acro is probably Acropora desalwii, though a few believe it is Acropora horrida. A. desalwii and A. plana are very similar and they are often confused. Side by side, plana has finer growth tips and desalwii has bigger polyps, but both these can be altered depending on flow and lighting. Desalwii has a stronger tabling growth habit with fused branches where plana has individual branches and often tables, but not usually until it is bigger.
