Default Anyone want a bad crab?

Anyone want a crab for mantis food or fun?

I've been trying to catch this little bugger for almost two years. With the move into the new tank over the past two days I spotted him while working on my aquascaping. I was able to grab the rock he was in and shake him out into a bucket.

I believe it to be a red eyed reef crab (Eriphia smithi) from my research online.

Damned if I can get photobucket to work to post a pic

Anyhow. If anyone wants him let me know, if not it's into a ziplock bag and the freezer for a sleep.

I hear ya. I'm in the south end of the city so it's a distance.

I've got him in a bucket right now but if I don't have any takers by the end of the day I'll send him to the big fishtank in the sky.

I've heard they can be really hard on your tank inhabitants. Did you lose any livestock to this critter

The crab is gone

over the past two years i have lost a number of snails. not sure if it was this guy or not though.

He grew a bunch in two years, started about the size of a dime, when I caught him he was around loonie sized.
