No first hand knowledge either.
I have taken a few things apart in demolition. Mainly tile that has been siliconed together, or to the tub.
If it was a good bond from the start, two pieces would come apart with quite a large force. I don't believe that silicone in a corner would not be a bit structural.
Your best bet is to get two pieces of glass and try it yourself after letting the silicone cure for at least 48 hrs, if not a week.
Not many people would take the chance of not having an inside silicone bead.
