Problem solved
I didn't want to install a float switch that would always be submerged just to have an alarm go off if this ever happens again.
Instead I installed a switch and a flashing 12vdc led. If I unplug anything I turn on the led. If I forget to plug something back in from now on I'm smart like a bag of hammers
