I thought the same thing, but everything is still alive. Perhaps its not even Brass, I was only guessing because of the color of the barbed fittings. Ill find out today as Im going to get a bunch of crabs and other interesting little guys for my system. my bio load has been light lately so the old janitors kinda vanished.
