You want to match your skimmers rating fairly close to your total water volume, if you go too big you will end up pulling nutrients out of the water too quickly. Oh i know I feel like a newbie again since taking a break for 8 years. this tank is a starter til i can get my salt game going at a good speed so that i can upgrade to a 8-10 footer that i will do up. thanks for the reply Warren.
