There is quite a bit of conflicting information out there.

Really depends on which article you read.

Bob Fenner indicates seeing them at 30 foot depths and professes them as a cooler water species who don;t do well in typical reef aquariums

Dr. Fosters and Smith indicate they generally suffer from very poor collection methods and that this is where their reputation for susceptibility to bacteria comes from.

They indicate this fish will do fine in a typical reef tank.

I do know of one hobbyist who kept one for 2 years in a 50 gallon that was on average around 78 degrees f.

I'm on the fence with this fish.

Have always wanted one but might just get a gold specs instead for 1/10th the money.
