I've been using this method for quite a few months now and everything is going swimmingly. No adverse affects yet that I can see. Things are growing wonderfully for me. In fact, Alk (baking soda) and calcium (from littlesilvermax) is the only thing that I dose my tank. Nothing else. Here's how I mix it all up:

I dose with a Profilux doser automatically every two hours for each (staggered by half an hour as you don't want to dose both at exactly the same time).
