I had a STN episode 3-4 months ago due to an accident. I tried all the tricks in the book; nothing worked until the corals decided to stop the STN. So the damage continued untile they were nice and ready to start recovering (a couple of months in my case). In the meantime I slowly brought the params to where I wanted them and held them there with my controller). I tested the water every day, etc. I know it's not what you want to hear, but that's what happened to me....
