Yah the number one reason I went with LEDs was the level on controllability, it looks like you get all that and a piece of cake with the ATIs. I've had issues with colour as well, I find the LEDs are really difficult for some corals to adapt to, and I've watched in sadness as the metallic sheen of some corals slowly fades to a dull base colour in my tank. I know it's not just how the lights make the colours appear to me, because the coral will have the really psychedelic, metallic look that made me want to buy it in the first place for the first 5-7 days in my tank, but something in the radions is not encouraging the coral to keep producing that colour and it always fades over time. The worst was a blue tipped, green bodied stag acro. When I got it (previously grown in a T5 tank), the green body looked like metallic car paint, now it's just a dull green.

On the other hand, I have a purple bonsai valida that went insane under the LEDs, it almost hurts to look at it it glows so brightly.

Perhaps a hybrid fixture will create the best of both.
