Just goes to show...
even after 20 years in the hobby, you still can't know it all.
Goodness knows I barely know a thing after 7.
Even tank manufacturers refer to drilled aquariums as Reef Ready or RR...
Your tank may be a reef, though without live rock it's an old school one
but without being drilled for overflow, is not reef ready.
just semantics really.
