Aqua-Digital is on a distinguished road
Thumbs up ProfiLux becomes DIY LED controller of choice

We have received massive amount of attention over the launch of the GHL ProfiLux PWM module which allows various LED devices including DIY builds to interface with ProfiLux and enable the user to have access to ALL the GHL functions including flash/storm and cloud cover.

Here is a copy of a press release

ProfiLux LED Control 4 allows PWM drivers in DIY LEDs, think thunderstorm mode

ProfiLux is set to release a new LED control module that will allow you to control DIY type LED Systems. This isn’t a standard on/off control, but much more advanced. Think full functionality for weather pattern modeling including lightning, this is the first time this feature has been made available to the DIY LED builder. Furthermore this new module enables other third part LED companies, for example Pacific Sun to easily play nice with GHL ProfiLux aquarium computer systems. The module is driven from the dedicated built in L ports (0-10V interfaces) on the ProfiLux, the module will include the required interface cable to interface with the computer and the module. There will be 2 variants of the LEDControl4: passive (switching only some mA, enough for a PWM controllable driver like Meanwell) and an active version with MOSFETs in it, able to switch 3A. Expect to see this module hitting the streets in the next few months and we will get our umbrella ready for your thunderstorm modes. We just ask that you don’t produce blizzards. We’ve seen enough. Update
I just wanted to make a few things clearer for all you DIY fanatatics

GHL has changed the doc for the LEDControl4Passive in regards to the output current, this is to clear up some confusion on the maximum draw and any limitations.

It is also noteworthy that LEDControl4 was developed especially for LED-lamps from Pacific Sun (passive version) and Aqua Styl - http://www.aquarium-led.de/aqua-styl-light-rgb.html - (active version) in the first place.

After this it soon became apparent that these devices could also be useful for DIY, However for some purposes and clients needs a dedicated DIY device should also be produced.

That means: LEDControl4 is useful for most DIY applications, but GHL are planning a more flexible and universal solution for DIY shortly (means few months, maybe even 6) therefore please check the tech details of both units to make sure the LEDControl4 meets your current requirements. If not then you know a unit will come this year that will.

Please find below all techncial details

It is also worth mentioning that we are launching GHL ProfiLux controller LED DIY builder kits in the very near future for those who want a controller to match their LED system control needs.
