Default My experience with brown Montipora bugs

Since there is very little information about them online, I thought I should post my experience treating brown Montipora bugs.

I noticed brown/black dots on the undersides of my montipora capricornis species a couple of months ago. I noticed lot less polyp extension, colour loss and some tissue thinning in certain areas. These are a brown tiny copepod that look identical to acropora red bugs and can be treated with "Interceptor", or other medication in the exact same way. I did an Interceptor treatment 4-5 weeks ago and haven't seen a bug since. I treated all montipora species in a 5 gallon quarantine for 24 hours. It seems that the bugs don't go on acropora or any other corals. Hope this helps some people. Happy reefing! -Adam
