Thanks Tony. A pvc substructure is the way to go imho. You can be much more creative using one, not having to rely on the rocks supporting themselves.

Thats what cutters are for

Im not sure this is their final resting place yet. I may try and attach them to the overflows on either side of the tank. Mostly mushrooms and zoas on the bottom, so they may actually benefit from getting some shade.
