I have the same issue in my tank. I have been fragging it for awhile now, and I can cut every piece of it out of the tank and it will be back in a couple of months. Problem is, you need to cut the rock that the xenia is attached to.Peeling works to get rid of it temporarily ,but if any teeny tiny bit of the xenia is left it will re-grow. Just make sure to do your trimming out of the tank and rinse( blast) the rock after. I have xenia in spots of my tank that the mother colony was never even close to. Probably from not rinsing the rock of well enough. I 'm a little sorry I put it in the tank, but on the other hand it has more than paid for itself.
