Personaly I have the room, and if you are worried about how much space you have in the fuse pannel for a big tank 240 is the way to go as you could run 15 amp 240 into a remote box, has two plugs off that as 240 and then split it down to about 20 amps worth of 120.

what I did in the old house was run a 15 amp 240 to my tank where I split it directly into two 15 amp runs of 120.
