In the Norton App, click Options,Other,Miscellaneous. The plugin control (enable/disable) is on that page. I'd disable it and if it solved your problem, leave it off. -->

If you can't figure that out, this will also work: go to "Start", "Run" and in the dialog box, paste (or type) in:
regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\norton antivirus\officeav.dll"
That will unregister the plugin and more or less have the same effect as the other procedure.
