Anyone have a PAR meter for rent or borrow?

I'm hoping to borrow or rent an Apogee PAR meter to confirm if my Seneye is valid (v 4, fw 4.0.8, latest).

Would it be safer to add the new sand to the refugium? Or, even put it into a quarantine tank for a few weeks but regardless I'd imagine it's hard to sift through it for bad stuff.
