Using them to write species names on the outside of a display tank. Condensation is an issue. OH were you asking the previous poster about the grease pencils, hence the blushicon?

I agree the first thing to determine is whether or not somebody or something in the house is traumatizing the bird. Also, check into breeding cycles for the bird- hormones make birds do crazy things....

I tested my pH and calcium this evening after a fairly long hiatus from testing. PH is off the map and calcium is 540 mg/L.

Are you thinking of the Tap Water Purifier by (I think) Aquarium Pharmaceuticals? It's a DI unit (de-ionizer) and it's a pretty good deal. Remember that you'll have to replace the cartridge...

I use glass just because I'm worried about salt creep up into the lighting equipment as I keep my lights very close to the water. Temp control hasn't been a problem for me but I don't use MH's.

I have a little sunlight on my 20G in the mornings, and it totally drowns out my PC's.

I can't really imagine that window sunlight would be an insignificant...
