Hi Willie. Over the years I have kept tangs in tanks ranging from 9ft to a minimum of 6 feet.
Tangs are best added in the dark and if you can do so move the rock where the more dominant tangs live...

Than put lots of live rock rubble in your fuge and feed phyto plankton.

In a week or so the most of the sand with start to bind as a result of bacteria and other activity.
