Yes, agreed. In my case, LEDs bother my eyes. I get the same "tired eyes" feeling when I watch a 3D movie at the theater or if I wear cheap sunglasses.

If you can, make a fake urchin and put it near their favourite spot. If you put the "spines" close enough it will provide safety for them. They certainly can survive in a reef tank.
