Hi,

I though Steve wanted to stir up something to bring up his posting count smile.gif

Back to this thread...I am not surprised with your results. IMHO, the extra heat given off by the MH is...

R/O unit, please help me choose.

Hi,

I don't have my RO/DI yet...but it should be arriving soon.

I chose the 100 GPD RO/DI that they have for sale at aquariumpros at $269. I chose that one because I needed a RO/DI. The DI...

R/O unit which Brand

Hi,

Natural water tends to contain trace elements and metals that the human being needs to be healthy. So, if you do drink exclusive DI water, then you'll need to find other ways to get those...

Seeding sand, where... and protein skimmer.

Hi,

426 is a bit too small for your tank. Something like a 626 should be good (its about $70 more at J&Ls). From what I have heard, its a good quality skimmer. You'll need a big pump to drive...

IO Salt problems

Hi,

I have found the IO salt takes longer to dissolve and it does it better at warmer temperatures. Kent...that stuff just melts in water, but not IO. My favourite technique is to use the bulb...

Seeding sand, where... and protein skimmer.

Hi,

Big Mombasa...like this one : http://www.petsforum.com/fishnchips/1999/fnc1199.html

Well...it isn't so hot for a nominally loaded 70 gallon tank. It would probably work well on a loaded...

Cleaning magnets

Hi,

According to the mag-float website, the 350 can cut through 5/8" of acrylic or glass (there are two versions). Save your money (unless you like the hardwood look)...and buy the ABS mag-float....

Mechanical HOT filter suggestions

Hi,

Sorry for the delay.

In a fish only tank, there usually isn't any live rock. Just like a fresh water tank, the tank is allowed to cycle to form a filtration system in the sand bed (if...

Hi,

You are right, Mak. When I bought my WEGA, they offered the headphones on the XBR. I guess things change over a couple of years.

F32T8

Hi,

WH5 or Workhorse 5. This is one of the ballasts that Fulham sells that can drive many different types of lights - from 4 T8s, 2 T12s to 2 55W PCs. In some ways, this is similar to what a...

Hi,

Say...are you trying to overdrive with this ballast or something ?

It seems that these F32T8 ballasts are not too popular with HD and other large hardware stores. Most consumers don't...

Another way to find a reliable CO2 source is to pop by a food court or a fast food restaurant and ask where they got the CO2 from. Pop distributors and professional food equipment retailers...

used pumps

Hi,

Not sure if anybody answered your question, but the WH5, WH6 or WH7 will be fine for overdriving. Each ballast will overdrive by 2x (on T8) and 1x (on T12) by default.

As for the pump,...

What kind of ballast

Hi,

I agree with Stircrazy, that your best bet is to get a Workhorse. 2x overdrive by default is on the Workhorse 5 and 7.

For a list of local distributors, check out www.fulham.com....

Hi,

Small Rio powerheads (like the ones used in bakpak) can be replaced with equivalent versions from Hagen or Maxijet (where Maxijet is a bit better than Hagen). A venturi kit can be purchased...
