Yes. I would describe it more like boar urine. It's gross. I don't think all avrylic makes this smell though...I don't know what the difference is.

A Bubble Blaster is a better pump and on a Vertex 250 would be a powerful skimmer. The Curve skimmers are very similar design so I see little use in paying for a skimmer body. It's all in the pump....

There is a sand calculator on Reef Central I think. If not, Google "reef sand calculator". It will tell you how many lbs for the dimensions and desired depth. I like less than 1".
