I wish it was a sponge. It is an encrusting hard fire coral, with stinging cells that causes me a lot if itchiness if I happen to touch it. It also drives my CA/Alk usage through the roof.

We lost power here for about 24 hours yesterday.

I was prepared...or so I thought. At the 12 hour mark, I unpacked my gas generator. I had purchased this many years ago for emergency use.

I did something today that I have not done for a long time... I added some fish. Anytime you add fish, you can be sure of one thing. There will be ONE resident fish that will attack the new guy(s)....

Thanks very much. The tank continues to do well enough. The fish are certainly doing great, however my coral has not thrived for some time now. OK.. But not what it has been in the past.
