To much flow?

Is it possible to have too much flow? I have a 60 gal with 2 Koranic 1500's.

I think its koralia 1500 :P

You have 50x turn over which is what many people have in sps/mixed reef tank. You will understand when there's too much flow by looking at the fishes...they start talking  JK

When things start getting blown around, its too much flow for your tank.

Haha ya that's it, damn autocorrect.

Do you have LPS? Many LPS are too fleshy for flow that strong and will retract and eventually recede. LPS like to jostle in the flow, not get stretched/blown sideways by the flow.

If your corals are PO'd, then yes. If they aren't, then no. :D

Koralia 1500's are strong enough to damage LPS corals if the flow is too direct. They could probably even blow the flesh off SPS if the flow was very direct.

GSP is "special", it has alien weed tendencies. ;) I have the same special GSP in my SPS tank with a 6105 pointed directly at it. It just grows on. The two big fat Aiptasia that are in the GSP patch also don't care about the powerhead.

flow

Like myka said, for lps be careful. I swam an incredible reef in Bali and saw that healthy stuff take a kick ass beating of flow! As long as your sand isn't blowing all over the place, sps seems to love the "motion of the ocean"
