How do I get rid of this stuff?
This is really spreading around the tank, on rocks, sand, overflows. Not the clam, the clove stuff. It's even growing on the clam shell, but it's not bothering the clam at all.
I'm thinking of pulling the rock out and scrubbing it off. Any other ideas? http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...ps39c22ab3.jpg |
you might have to remove clam and kill the rock, otherwise chemical warfare and kill everthing else.
|
Get your chisel and remove clam from rock.
|
I really really don't like this answer. :twised:
The clam has been on this rock since I first brought it home. It's on a few other rocks as well that will involved pulling my rock work apart..... There's a small rock I can get at, I'm gonna scrub and see if itll come off...... |
Blue clove polyps are the worst. Scrubbing the rock will do nothing as they will just grow back.
People have had success using fluke tabs. Do a search. |
Thanks, I'll do a search!
These are more brown than blue. I can pull the mats off the sand but not off the rock.... Grrr |
Kalk paste maybe? Or cover them with patches of epoxy until they die. Then pull/peel the putty off. Then epoxy up the ones you missed and repeat until you're happy.
|
Fluke tabs sound like they'll kill a few things, Xenia, gsp, I have both and love them!
Kalk paste may be an option. Wasn't bad on just 1 rock but it's getting everywhere now. |
acid acid! :)
|
im having the same issue. i have both the brown and the blue. the blue is everywhere in the tank in litttle patches. tried kalk, just comes back. the brown is on some baserock. guess some re-scaping is upcoming. too bad there isnt a nudie or fish that would dine on these.
