Interesting Hitch Hiker

Over the years I've seen some pretty interesting hitch hikers make their way into the aquarium via live rock or coral additions. One fellow had a moray eel come in on some rock from Florida (if I remember the story correctly he got ~ $180 store credit due to the rarety of the species). I just found a hitch hiker that I never would have expected; a five inch sand sifting cuccumber. Its skin has the texture and colour of a chestnut shell, spikes and all. It amazes me that they make it without water so long.

Wow, that is big to be hiding in a piece of LR. :D

Troy, funny you should mention the eel. The LFS over here got an eel in some rock they put in their display tank. Cute little guy! They'll never be able to get it out, so I hope it stays small and non-destructive....hehe

Go figure. Bob, cukes can really contract their bodies so it probably went into a small hole. An eel, on the otherhand, really amazes me due to the lack of water for what would be days.
