The start of our 90gal salt aquarium

Well my girlfriend and I decided to start a salt water tank. We are both excited to watch it go and hopefully learn some new stuff along the way. I am especially excited for her son to be apart of this. Hes young and is sick, with several issues and a hole in his heart. I noticed how my small freshwater planted tank calmed him and and give him something to enjoy other then tv, and video games. Seeing as he cant run to much nor be outside to much. Most of his activites are indoors. Im hopeing by him helping us feed fish, water changes, and even design on the rocks will give him a sence on ownership and something to relax and enjoy.

Im posting a couple pictures. I have no rock, no light, no skimmer yet. this will be a work in progress.

As I type this out I'm filling up the tank for its first time! I met 2 guys at big als. Super friendly and nice. I didn't catch there names though they were speaking 100 words a second. But I really appreciate the effort and the knowledge they taught me.
Thanks again

Hi and welcome!

Good size tank to start with, congrats. Come here with questions. Lfs are ok for info and always good to find one you can trust, but some are questionable. There's loads of good knowledgable people here who are always willing to help!

Very cool that you are doing this as a family, I'm sure your little guy will love being a part of reef keeping.

As you will find, everyone loves pictures, so get em up!!

Use photobucket to upload pics to the site. Much easier.

Best way to post pics is uploading them to a hosting site like photobucket and then linking them here.

If you are not running into errors when setting up a saltwater tank, you are not doing it correctly :P

So all I can say is you are the on the right path to start one of the most addictive hobby that exists in this world :D
