profilux level sensor???

Today I got the optical level sensor starter pack and a float sensor. I am having a brain fart and can't seem to get it to work. I have the 2 sensors plugged into a y adapter and the level sensor set to ATO 2 sensors, but for some reason the sensor isn't turning on the outlet. I also noticed the float sensor is setting it into instant alarm. this is how I have it installed:

I've been using the contactless sensor for a couple years and it worked (when the sensor did anyway). Just can't figure out whats wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps the magnet is reversed on the float sensor? It looks like mine and you can remove the c-clip holding the float(magnet) in place and then reverse the float and replace the clip. Doing this changes the polarity of the switch so that once was a high sensor is now low or vice-versa. Try it the other way to see if that is the issue. Maybe make a mark on the float with a sharpie first so you can go back to the way it was originally. :)

You also only really need one sensor for ATO

I have flipped the float and now it doesn't alarm. The float is only there as an emergency shut off. I have level one set as ato and level 2 (float) as leakage as I read that Is a way to set it up. It's weird though because the optical still isn't turning on the outlet for the ato. I must have missed something or changed something along the way.

You really don't need the second one. Just set your float ATO so if it runs more than so many secs or minute, it shuts it off and sends you a alarm.

I figured out what I did...I had I unplugged the pump from the outlet  works great now

I have done that. I guess I was just looking for a true fail safe. But now I'm thinking I should put it it my top off container to alarm when it's empty.

Glad you figured it out. The set up you now have will work great. With the float as an overflow sensor. But make sure that during normal return pump shut off you do not trigger the over flow alarm.

That's a good point I'll have to set it just past the point of shut off volume.
