breezes jibacoa cuba
 

just got back from vacation here... and the reef was amazing and no boat or hike required as the reef starts at the shore line. Some people referred to this place as the retirement home, mainly an older crowd 40s - 70s with few younger people roaming around. an hour to veradero and havana.

if your looking to party or good food, might wanna look else where but for a relaxing vacation with very good snorkelling... this will be the place for you.

no pics sorry as my underwater camera fried 3 pictures in after taking pics of a couple of cuttlefish... I blame the cuttles.

I loved Cuba, stayed as a Sandals several years back.

Did you get there non-stop/direct? I would love to go back, but haven't because I refuse to lay-over in Toronto... In the past, I was able to get direct/non-stop from Calgary, but it doesn't seem possible anymore.

If you did, what charter?

air canada vacation direct calgary to veradero i think this is a regular thing...... then an hour bus ride to jibacoa.

I stayed there years ago and loved it. Great resort and good diving.

Cuba is one of my all time favorite destinations. We've stayed in Jibacoa, Veradero, Caya coco and one more place I can't remember right now. Various resorts from Sandals and Breezes. All were amazing. Wonderful people great beaches and good diving.

thing i found amusing about this resort was most of the people were snorkelling in and around the sea grass close to shore, a bit farther off there was a smaller population in the shallow reef. then maybe saw 10 people in the entire day where all the good stuff was.

downside was snorkelling alone was a huge mindscrew, then saw the odd thing that really got me going and sent me back to shore...... barracuda and eels i hung out with the eels alot, but when you find them they kind of popped out of the rock haunted house style..
