Southdown Sand - In BC - Where?

Hi all. This is my first post on this board.

I am looking for Southdown sand. Of course I can't find any. If you know of a source please let me know! Does YOUR Home Depot have it???

Thanks!
Mindy

Mindy, welcome to the board. Unfortunately, you won't find southdown in western Canada.

Myka 03-03-2004 11:23 PM

Oh really? I thought I had seen somewhere that someone had gotten Southdown in the Lower Mainland?

Mindy

PS Thanks for the welcome.

and the answer is....

ok I'll bite what is southdown sand?

Its caribean aragonite packaged as childrens playsand for sand boxes and whatever else, large stores back east usually have it, we dont have it out west because shipping is too expensive for stores to want to carry it, no profit margin...

The only southdown in the lower mainland came from California, if I remember right. Some companies sell a slightly less expensive brand, such as Jayson at saltwater connection sells. Still pricey though, and after shipping, certainly not cheap.
