What type of play sand is safe for my refugium? I have a bag from toys R us. All it says is that it has been cleaned.

Is it really worth cheaping out on? Go with Caribsea olitic sugar sand. A bag I think sells for around 30$.

There are reams of information on this on RC, just do a search for "Southdown" and read through the resulting 39,843,994,281 posts.

If you have playsand, it is likely NOT for SW use.
