what do these retail for at other competitive places?

They retail in Calgary for $1800 - $1900. On sale I think the lowest I've seen them here is $1600.

I've heard that also... that King Ed's is selling them for $999... but is in-store pickup only (I've already talked to King Ed's about this). So it's a good deal if you happen to live in Vancouver.

As for the price... the $999 is cheap. Looking at various web sites (even US based retailers), they are selling for over $1600 and up. Here in Edmonton, it is being sold for $1999.
